Impossible to capture in words just how wonderful my Grandad will always be to me. Our summer holidays visiting or when Nan and Grandad would come to us, always filled with excitement. I remember Grandad would wait to collect us at the train station, we'd be eagerly looking for him as the train pulled in. He'd greet us with a big smile, big hug, his joyful energy was infectious. And of course, can't forget his perfectly combed, wavy hair and trusty comb in his pocket. Some of my greatest childhood memories are the times spent with Nan and Grandad. Playing quick cricket on the beach-Nan with her impressive swing (sorry Nan)-and playing cards for actual money, which I now realise was my first lesson in gambling, where I learned the house (Grandad) always wins. I remember the rides and amusements at Southsea, days at West wittering beach, and adventures at haven Holiday Park, along with so many others. And of course, there was KFC-surely part of why I'm such a fan still. Even though Grandad took such pride in his garden, he'd always dig a hole for us to play clock golf, showing what a true family man he was. For Grandad, nothing ever seemed more important than making sure us kids were having fun. My Grandad, a truly GREAT man, admired and cherished by all lucky enough to be close to him. I can only hope to have inherited atleast a few of his remarkable qualities. As a father to two wonderful girls myself, Grandad has been a role model for me-his boundless love, energy, and contagious joy are the foundation I aspire to build on as a dad. I hope I can be the kind of father he was and honour his legacy in my own way. I'm so grateful my girls have had the chance to know you. If you read this Nan, Bella and Skyla can't wait to give you a big hug! Love always, Greg
